Denise Thomas, MSW, is employed at Pressley Ridge in Delaware as a Program Supervisor and has been working for the organization for the past seven years.

Pressley Ridge works with Treatment Foster Care (TFC) youth who have behavior challenges, cognitive limitations, physical disabilities, and overall traumatic pasts. As a Program Supervisor, Denise oversees 7 staff members who are responsible for the treatment planning of TFC youth, in addition to working closely with their biological family. Denise started her career working in a group home environment that housed adults diagnosed with Schizophrenia.

Denise has presented at several national conferences over the last few years and specific areas of interest include topics such as Therapeutic Alliance-relationship building and Response Ability Pathways (RAP)-brain-based training. On a smaller scale, she conducts workshops at yearly staff retreats and quarterly group supervision sessions. She is also certified with The Upside Down Organization as a presenter and truly enjoys using her neuroscience knowledge to work with youth in the foster care system. 

Denise attended the University of Delaware as n undergraduate student and obtained a B.A. in Sociology with a concentration in health services.   She received her Masters of Social Work (MSW) degree from Delaware State University.
