Jim has an extensive career in the human service field as a child and youth care advocate. His passion for working with     young people is derived from his own personal background as a foster-adopt child. Jim's experience in the childcare field includes having served as a direct care worker, houseparent, caseworker, program director, children’s home administrator and homeless shelter administrator. 

Jim has been employed with the Cal Farley Boy's Ranch and Girlstown USA since 1997where he is currently the Director of Training. He’s presented on a variety of topics at administrative conferences, school districts, and foster parent organizations with a special emphasis in skill based training for adults serving adult-wary youth. Jim is involved in the Training of Trainers for the Neurosequential Model of Therapy with Dr. Bruce Perry of the Child Trauma Academy, and recently received extensive training in the Trauma Based Relational Intervention training provided by Dr. Karen Purvis of Texas Christian University.

Jim and his wife, Maggie, reside in Amarillo, Texas and enjoy photography, hiking, yoga and music and have two beautiful daughters.
