Alisha is the Director of Education and Training at Adoptions Together, an organization that enjoys a close positive relationship with The Upside Down Organization. Alisha has advocated for children through front-line work, research, and best practice training.

Alisha received her Bachelor’s Degree from Skidmore College and her Masters’ degrees in both Social Work and Maternal and Child Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While in the school of social work, Alisha’s graduate work focused on transracial adoption, adoption from foster care, and family reunification. While in the School of Public Health, her work focused on maternal mental health, attachment, and the effects of prenatal substance use.

Alisha has worked in fair housing advocacy, early childhood education, adoption from foster care work, and maternal and infant health programs. In her current role as Director of Education and Training at Adoptions Together, Alisha writes and delivers trainings for parents and professionals on subjects such as trauma, attachment, brain development, prenatal exposure, and understanding complicated children.

 Alisha loves training and facilitation, and is passionate about bringing best practice information to parents and professionals who care deeply about children.
